Barry Dowsett and Kevin Tone founded Soundrangers in 1998. As early pioneers in the online delivery of stock sound effects and music, Barry and Kevin developed a web based system that allows users the ability to search, preview and download sound effects and music created by Soundrangers. They currently actively maintain this library of audio content which is optimized and licensable for game development.

As a game audio company, Soundrangers have also provided original music and sound design services for many games over the years with recent titles completed for Eidos, Activision, Nickelodeon, Electronic Arts, Microsoft Game Studios, and Cartoon Network. Their work covers a wide array of game platforms including Wii, PSP, Flash, XBLA, Web and Xbox.
