With master game designer Jane Jensen and mystery novelist James Patterson, Oberon Media is creating another great mystery game for casual players. The Hollywood Reporter reported on Patterson’s movement from mystery novels, to a television show on ABC and now his venture into casual gaming.
In the article, Patterson discusses the origins for his interest in casual games. “We're going to give people who don't want to shoot things ... who prefer to use their brains ... a chance to solve a really good mystery,” says Patterson. “This will open up a whole new arena to a lot of people who don't play games now. I believe that market is huge.”
The article concludes with Jane Jensen and how she entered the project in addition to what the team is doing to produce the game.
Hopefully these trends continue and we'll get John Grisham to make a casual game.
