South African company Skillpod Media has announced a large amount of online casual game announcements that cross over companies all over the world.
First, Skillpod has announced the creation of their own Facebook application. The application will allow over 500 games on the SkillPod.com portal, to be applied to gamers Facebook profiles.
Second, Skillpod has partnered with South African site 24.com to create FunGames.24.com. Skillpod promises the gaming site will fit with 24.com's social networking features like blogging, photo albums and instant messaging.
Speaking about the 24.com deal, CEO of SkillPod Media, Mark van Diggelen, believes that the rise of Web 2.0 has exp a nded the features that entertainment and social network sites are looking at more ways to grow their sites. “This year is being predicted as the year when social networking will start to mature after the hype of 2007, and our partnership with 24.com signals our intent to seriously build on last year’s momentum,” says Diggelen. “On the gaming side, this is something that SkillPod Media is ideally poised to assist with "
Finally, Irish entertainment company and portal, Entertainment.ie has partnered with Skillpod to use the company to handle its free gaming area on the portal site.
