PopCap Deals With Southeast Asian Mobile Carrier

After news of a joint partnership with Nokia to put games onto their SNAP mobile platform last month, Popcap Games has now announced a partnership with Acme Games. This partnership will bring Popcap’s games to cellphones in six Southeast Asian countries. Chuzzle and Bookworm are the first games to be released onto Acme Games' family of web and WAP sites named “Amob.com”. Both of these Popcap games are already available for purchase today.

"Acme Mobile's unique combination of its Amob.com direct consumer channels, carrier connections and regional marketing expertise make them a perfect partner for PopCap," says James Gwertzman, vice presedent of Asia/Pacific for PopCap. "We decided to enter Southeast Asia in a big way, with a strong partner who could quickly help us build our mobile brand, and we found that partner in Acme Mobile." The games are now available to cellphone gamers in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
